Love Ripple was born from my own healing journey...and, in full transparency, it was not a gentle f*cking process.

 

In 2011, just before my 31st birthday, I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer.  Despite zero family history, genetic testing revealed the BRCA2 mutation, significantly increasing my risk for a reoccurrence of breast cancer as well as additional cancers, particularly ovarian.

Well damn.

 

So I made quick, bold decisions.  A bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction 10 days after diagnosis.  A bilateral oophorectomy, the removal of aforementioned ticking-time-bomb ovaries, a month after that.  Cue menopause!  

 

Desperate for healing beyond the surgeries and medical appointments, I began exploring Reiki, essential oils, guided meditation, and crystal healing.  Along the way, the Universe began connecting me with some of the most amazing and inspiring humans that helped guide me.  At the same time, I dove down the research rabbit hole to learn all that I could about carcinogens, phthalates, parabens, mutagens, and whatever else could harm my mind, body, and spirit.

I discovered toxicity in so many everyday products, many of which I was using on a daily basis:  Bye-bye Bath & Body Works shower gels, lotions, and body sprays with all those parabens.  YUCK.  See ya never again Yankee candles with that paraffin-filled wax and carcinogen-filled fragrance.  GAG.  Good riddance Revlon make-up and those formaldehyde-releasing preservatives.  ICK.  

 

It seemed like the list grew by the day, along with my frustration and fear that I would never be able to shop like a "normal" person again.

Then I remembered something powerful, something that shifted everything:  I've always been a creator, a crafter, a maker, a mixer, a DIY Diva long before DIY was trendy. 

 

So, back to my roots and back to the basics I went.  I started crafting my own natural candles, sugar scrubs, face cream, body lotion, and bath bombs, selecting ingredients with purpose and intention - to heal instead of harm - and infusing everything with love and a sprinkle of magick.

What started as a way to minimize my exposure to toxins and as gifts for friends and family slowly became Love Ripple, LLC - a brand born from survival, sustained by soul and sass, and intentionally built upon resilience, research, and the rebellion against toxic norms. 

 

While a little bit of my heart and soul goes into every product I make and every service I offer, Love Ripple is so much more than those products and services.  It's a community, a vibe tribe.  Love Ripple is a soft place to land as well as a space to get messy as we heal: mind, body, and spirit, together.
